Amid difficult times, U.S., Canadian lotteries are holding their own

Overall, U.S. sales grew by 3.5 percent to $62.1 billion, slightly improving upon fiscal 2007’s 3 percent increase. In Canada, total sales inched ahead just as they did last year, with sales up 1.4 percent to almost C$8.7 billion
