Real-time
information on airline flights can now be displayed in the public areas of
casino hotels using the FlyteBoard digital screen by Chicago-based Flyte
Systems.
Co-developed with Santa Ana, Calif.-based Display
IQ, the FlyteBoard is a wall-, floor- or ceiling-mounted high-definition flat
panel screen the hooks to the Internet to provide current flight information
for all airlines serving local airports. It includes information about delays
and cancellations too.
The system can be expanded with a number of software
packages. FlyteTouch enables guests to search flight information via touch
screens and coupled with FlytePass lets them check in and print boarding passes.
FlyteChannel expands the real-time flight information service to in-room TV
sets.
If a guest knows his or her flight has been delayed
for several hours they can secure their boarding passes but stick around longer
at the casino instead of waiting at the airport.
The system also can direct guests to other amenities
at the property, such as restaurants.
