Harrah’s Entertainment has rebranded Caesars Indiana as Horseshoe Casino and Hotel Southern Indiana.

Harrah’s spent $53 million on the upgrade as a way to maintain and grow its clientele in the face of new competition. Southern Indiana casinos have been affected by the opening of two new racinos in early June. They are Hoosier Park in Anderson and Indiana Live in Shelbyville.

As part of the rebranding, the property has been renovated with new lighting and carpeting, the new Envy Stage Bar and an upgraded VIP area. Indiana’s gaming revenue is down $24 million in the first half of the year, compared to 2007. The Horseshoe brings $23 million to Harrison County, along with 2,000 jobs.
