Cantor Gaming, an affiliate of global financial services company Cantor Fitzgerald, has acquired the assets of Michael “Mickey” Wichinsky’s family of businesses, including the company’s comprehensive catalog of casino games, its intellectual property and gaming expertise, and its library of art, designs and technology.

The acquisition, announced Monday, provides Cantor Gaming with one of Nevada’s richest portfolios of gaming content, developed over 50 years.  Mickey Wichinsky will remain as a consultant to the company as Cantor integrates and adapts games and content from the Wichinsky catalog onto its mobile gaming device, eDeck.

eDeck is undergoing field trials at The Venetian in Las Vegas.

“Mickey Wichinsky is one of the most successful and most respected game developers in Nevada,” said Lee Amaitis, president of Cantor Gaming. “His experience in gaming IP is unparalleled in the business.”

Cantor is excited about the possibilities the acquisition opens up, he said.

“We have been developing a number of proprietary games for our eDeck platform and with this move we have added some of the most creative and successful content in Nevada gaming to our inventory of games,” Amaitis said.

“The long tradition and quality that Wichinsky brings, coupled with Cantor’s innovation and our new wireless technology, will give visitors to Las Vegas an experience that we think is truly unique.”

Wichinsky said Cantor’s efforts are changing the casino business. “With mobile gaming, operators can give customers the freedom to game where and when they choose,” Wichinsky said. “The wireless technology means casinos can tailor the content to their customers’ preferences, and there’s no limit on the number of new games they can add. This gives Cantor Gaming, and the casino operators that work with them, enormous creative potential and I’m pleased to be contributing to that.”

Meanwhile, M Resort property officials also recently announced a long-term agreement with Cantor Gaming to provide cutting-edge mobile gaming technology to the casino floor and race and sports book of the $1 billion resort, slated to be completed next spring on the far south end of Las Vegas Boulevard. While subject to approval by the Nevada Gaming Commission and Nevada Control Board, the agreement stipulates that Cantor will be the exclusive provider of mobile gaming service to the M Resort and will operate the M Resort’s race and sports book.

Cantor Gaming will deploy a server-based gaming system, with full back-office infrastructure and an extensive portfolio of games. Mobile gaming will permit the play of familiar casino-style games, such as slots, blackjack, roulette, baccarat and poker, within the casino property but away from the confines of the traditional casino floor.
