Bally Technologies Inc. announced that the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods has selected slot management system, the Bally iVIEW Networked Floor of the Future solution, and Bally’s Power Winners and Power Promotions bonusing technologies.

When the $700 million, 825-room MGM Grand at Foxwoods opens this May, the new casino floor will feature high-speed Ethernet capabilities, enabling the casino and Bally to offer the latest technologies for a fully networked casino floor. MGM Grand at Foxwoods, Connecticut’s third largest casino resort, will have 1,500 slot machines… Bally also announced that it has signed a contract with United Coin Machine Co., a gaming machine route operator, under which Bally will deploy its new ALPHA Elite Bar Top unit, the slot maker’s first bar-top styled gaming machines, throughout Nevada.

The agreement calls for United Coin to install Bally’s ALPHA Elite Bar Top games in the state’s taverns and bars where United Coin manages gaming machines. United Coin expects to install the first 100 bar-top units beginning this month.

• MICROS Systems Inc., a maker of technology solutions to the hospitality and retail industries, announced that Danubius Hotels Nyrt. has selected MICROS 9700 Hospitality Management System and OPERA Central Systems solutions for all of its 56 hotels. The OPERA component includes OPERA Customer Information System, OPERA Reservation System, OPERA Sales Force Administration, OPERA Web Services, and myfidelio.net. The initial deployment of 38 hotels will occur in Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, UK, and later in its hotels in Romania. The complete roll out is scheduled between September 2008 and November 2009… MICROS Systems also announced that Las Vegas Sands Corp. has selected MICROS 9700 Hospitality Management System for its new luxury resort, hotel and casino, The Palazzo Las Vegas. Adjacent to The Venetian property, The Palazzo went live in January 2008 with 110 MICROS Workstation 4 LX terminals added to The Venetian’s existing system, resulting in a single 275 terminal point-of-sale (POS) system spanning both properties.

Independent Lottery Research, a gaming research company, announced that a second lottery has taken advantage of its proprietary Game PlanSM research tool. Game PlanSM, a max-diff discrete analysis technique, allows lotteries and lottery vendors significant flexibility in measuring consumer reactions to game attributes. ILR will use Game PlanSM for both the instant and online product with its new client lottery.
