Merit
Entertainment’s Megatouch Entertainer is now available, packing all of Merit’s
2008 games and nearly a half-million songs from the AMI network into the
Wallette’s 17-inch form factor, making it capable of reaching casual gamers as
well as music fans.
The Entertainer is ideal for booth or
intimate playback environments and can be placed in multiple units in one
location to maximize earnings. The unit sports an improved out-of-the-box sound
system, ensuring crisp and clean music playback. Music levels can be changed
on-screen with new player-adjustable volume controls. Operators also can set a
maximum and minimum volume range for the entire system. This ensures that the
music from one booth doesn’t overwhelm music from the next or infringe upon
other patrons.
Like all IONs, the Entertainer has
built-in wireless networking so there is no need to run any extra cables. Once
a wireless router is set up, the Entertainer is ready to go. It’s fully
compatible with the AMI broadband network so it supports the entire AMI library
and all the features that operators have come to expect from AMI. The
Entertainer also sports an extended 256MB of RAM to support high quality music
play and speedy game loading.
Merit’s Entertainment’s business model also reduces the
price of the Entertainer by US$1,000 compared with a traditional Wallette,
while keeping music fees the same as any AMI-connected jukebox.
